TasteSync ("we", "us") is a social platform that connects people through shared taste in music, books, anime, games, shows and films. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. Contact: hello@tastesync.in.

What we collect

• Waitlist: your email address, when you submit it on this site.
• Account: when you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture.
• Taste data: when you choose to connect a platform, we import public taste data from it — Spotify (top artists and genres), Goodreads (books read), AniList or MyAnimeList (anime and manga lists), Steam or GG (game libraries), Trakt, Letterboxd or Serializd (watch history or favourites). We only import what you explicitly connect, and only data those platforms make available for your account.
• Activity: likes and matches you create inside the app.

How we use it

• To compute compatibility scores and show you potential matches.
• To display your taste profile to other signed-in users of the app (that is the product).
• To contact you about early access if you joined the waitlist.

We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. We do not use your data to train AI models.

Where it lives

Data is stored with our processors: Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (website hosting and analytics), and Formspree (waitlist form). Platform data is fetched directly from the services you connect using their official or public interfaces; we store only the imported results, never your passwords for those services.

Your choices

• Skip connecting any platform — every taste source is optional.
• Ask us to delete your account and all associated data by emailing hello@tastesync.in. We delete within 30 days.
• Waitlist emails: reply to any email or write to us to be removed.

Third-party platforms

Spotify, Goodreads, AniList, MyAnimeList, Steam, GG, Trakt, Letterboxd, Serializd and Apple Music are trademarks of their respective owners. TasteSync is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them. Your use of those platforms is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

Children

TasteSync is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the date above.
